The Extremadura Volunteer Law, aimed especially at the training of this personnel, “will soon enter” the Assembly, as announced by the regional president of the Volunteer Platform, Jesús Gumiel, who has shown his confidence that the text will receive the approval for single reading.
“An impeccable job has been done” in writing the text, added Gumiel, minutes before participating in the inauguration of the XXII Autumn Volunteer School, held in Mérida, organized by the Volunteer Platform of Spain , in collaboration with the Extremaduran association network.
Also in regulatory matters, the general director of Social Services to Support Family and Children of the Ministry, Pilar González, present at the event, has announced that the regulations of the state Law on Volunteering, currently in the regulatory phase, will see the light before the end of the year.
Following Law 45/2015, of October 14, the Ministry has worked together with the Volunteering and Third Sector Platform in the preparation of the aforementioned regulation, framed in the so-called “national strategy” of volunteering.
Gumiel and González have been accompanied by the national president of the Platform, Luciano Poyato; the Minister of Health and Social Policy, José María Vergeles, and the mayor of Mérida, Antonio Rodríguez Osuna.
Around four million people volunteer in Spain, of which around 20,000 carry out their activity in Extremadura, said Poyato, who stated that “solidarity and participation is a fundamental right of people.”
