The Assembly of Extremadura last October 7th hosted the celebration of the XIX Regional Blood Donor Day in Extremadura with an event in which the first vice president of the Chamber participated, Jose Andres Mendowho declared that “one more year the Assembly welcomes the most solidarity act of all, the one that demonstrates generosity to the maximum, the one that rewards those who are capable of sharing their own blood without knowing who they are donating it to.”
Furthermore, “today more than ever and as an Extremaduran, I feel very proud to be part of my people, those who are capable of giving more of themselves than any other region in Spain,” he added.
Mendo congratulated the Blood Donor Brotherhoods “for their quiet and effective work, for their priceless work, for the nobility of their cause, for the benefit they bring to all the hospitals in the region without which more than one transfusion or surgical operation would be unthinkable.”
Finally, he expressed the institution’s gratitude “in reciprocity to those who collaborate daily to obtain more donors and I close this event with congratulations to the sixteen distinguished people.”
At the event, in which the general director of Health Care of the SES, Vicente Alonso and the president of the Federation of Blood Donors, Jesús Domínguez, also participated, sixteen “distinguished” donors from the eight Donor Brotherhoods were recognized. of the region, as well as the delivery of plaques to the donors with the highest number of donations in 2016.
