The Jury of the III edition of the March 9 Awardsorganized by the European Foundation for Missing Persons (QSDglobal), has granted the Assembly of Extremadura the award for Best Institutional Action “for the message of unity and political consensus to make visible and demand progress in the investigations of missing persons,” according to QSDglobal.

Thus – continues the Foundation – every 9th of every month, the deputies go out to the doors of the Regional Chamber to remember the missing people and observe a minute of silence. “There is no doubt about the importance of periodically making the cause of disappearances visible,” the jury also appreciated.

It is worth remembering that the two missing Extremaduran women are still unlocated, Manuela Chavero, from Monesterio, and Francisca Cadenas de Hornachos, both in the province of Badajoz.

The March 9 Awards aim to make visible the phenomenon of human disappearances and expand social awareness about the impact suffered every year by the thousands of families who report the disappearance of a loved one in Spain.

The award ceremony for these awards will take place on March 9, Friday, at the Medialab-Prado Auditorium in Madrid, on the occasion of the Missing Persons Day without apparent cause.
