On June 4, the II Playa de Peloche Triathlon will take place, which this year coincides with the Extremadura Championship for Cadets. This was announced at the presentation of the event, which was attended by the mayor of Herrera del Duque and provincial deputy, Saturnino Alcázar; the president of the Extremadura Triathlon Federation, José Manuel Tovar; and two athletes who participated in the first edition and who achieved a podium finish: Eloy Valle, champion, and Lidia Durán, runner-up.
The test will take place in a spectacular natural environment, Peloche Beach, which has recently renewed its Blue Flag award for infrastructure and water quality. Athletes will have to swim 750 meters through the García Sola reservoir, cycle 20 kilometers from Peloche to Herrera del Duque round trip, and finish with a 5-kilometer run along the beach.
In addition to the sprint distance, which counts towards the FEXTRI 2023 League, there will be a shorter test for young people between 12 and 13 years old who will compete for the Extremadura Championship for Cadets. Both the mayor and the president of the federation have invited all triathlon fans to register and enjoy this unique sporting experience. The registration period will end one week before the event.
