The president of the Assembly of Extremadura, Blanca Martín, has participated since yesterday, Tuesday, October 17, in the working group ‘Mixed population movements and human rights’ of the Conference of European Regional Assemblies (Calre) that meets in the Canary Islands.
The meeting will be inaugurated today, Wednesday the 18th, by the president of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Carolina Darias, the president of Calre, Juan Pablo Durán, also president of the Parliament of Andalusia, and by the president of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo Batlle.
Program
After the inauguration, the presentation of the working group’s report will take place and will continue with the presentation of good practices from the organizations: UNHCR-Spain, International Peace Institute (IPI) and Jesuit Refugee Service.
Already on Thursday, the 19th, the planned activities include a visit to the headquarters of the UN World Food Program and another to the Logistics Center for Humanitarian Aid of the Red Cross and Crescent of the Canary Islands, to conclude with the presentation of good practices by Caritas; from the International Organization for Migration; Radio Ecca, and the ambassador on special mission for Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Government of Spain.
